Oyster Month, now in its 10th year, is a month long series of oyster
themed events. Held simultaneously at both Denver and Boulder
locations, the month includes a New Orleans style kickoff party, an
‘Oyster Flight Week,’ wine and beer flights paired with oysters, an
‘Oyster Fixe’ week with a $30 3 course prix fixe menu and a race to the
finish with the “Oyster Eating Contest” where contestants slurp down
oysters as fast as they can for charity.
Over the years, Jax
‘Oyster Month’ has donated over $35,000 to benefit such charities as
Project Angel Heart, Children's Hospital, the Robby Ferrufino Memorial
Fund, Imagine! and the Louisiana Oyster Community Relief Fund. This
year, Jax will be donating all proceeds from Oyster Month to MAKE IT
RIGHT, helping rebuild homes for those displaced by Hurricane Katrina.
